US under secretary of state visits Baku’s Alley of Martyrs
US Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs Allison Hooker has visited the Alley of Martyrs in Baku.
The American diplomat paid her respects with deep reverence, Caliber.Az reports, citing the US Embassy in Azerbaijan.
The embassy’s statement added that Hooker honours the memory of all those who gave their lives defending their values and expressed heartfelt condolences to the families and individuals who lost loved ones as a result of conflicts.
The visit of Allison Hooker to Azerbaijan comes as Washington seeks to re-energise engagement in the South Caucasus amid ongoing efforts to advance the Armenia–Azerbaijan peace process, a priority repeatedly underscored by the US State Department.
Her trip is part of a broader regional tour covering both Yerevan and Baku, during which US officials emphasised support for long-term stability, regional connectivity initiatives and deeper bilateral cooperation.
In Baku, on November 19 2025, she held high-level meetings with Azerbaijan’s Foreign Ministry, discussing US–Azerbaijan strategic partnership, the Armenia-Azerbaijan peace process and regional connectivity issues.
