Batumi talks boost Georgia–Azerbaijan partnership across key sectors PHOTO

In a high-level meeting held in Batumi on May 3, the Chairman of the Government of the Autonomous Republic of Adjara, Sulkhan Tamazashvili, met with the Azerbaijani Ambassador to Georgia, Faig Guliyev, to discuss avenues for strengthening bilateral ties between the two neighbouring countries.

The Adjara government released details of the visit, which also included the participation of Fuad Azizov, the Consul General of Azerbaijan in Batumi, Caliber.Az reports via domestic media.

The meeting focused on reviewing the current dynamics of Azerbaijan-Georgia relations and identifying opportunities to deepen their cooperation across various sectors. Tamazashvili presented the Azerbaijani delegation with comprehensive information on the tourism potential of Adjara and provided updates on key infrastructure projects currently underway in the region.

The two sides emphasised that the strategic partnership between Georgia and Azerbaijan extends beyond politics and economics. They reaffirmed their commitment to fostering closer collaboration in cultural, humanitarian, and educational fields.

In a separate engagement, Ambassador Guliyev also met with Georgia’s Minister of Culture, Elisso Bolkvadze. During their conversation, the officials discussed expanding cultural ties, enhancing bilateral cooperation in the arts, and the possibility of implementing joint cultural projects that reflect the strong historical and regional connection between the two nations.
