Baykar unveils cutting-edge Kalkan Diha tactical drone PHOTO/VIDEO
Turkish defence company Baykar has unveiled its latest innovation in unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) with the introduction of the Kalkan Diha tactical drone.
Equipped with vertical takeoff and landing capabilities, the Kalkan Diha represents a significant advancement in reconnaissance technology. Baykar announced the launch of the production-ready Kalkan Diha on its social media platform, X, Caliber.Az reports.

Designed for deployment at the tactical level, the drone is specifically tailored for use by infantry units for tasks such as reconnaissance, fire correction, and long-range patrols.
The Kalkan Diha boasts impressive specifications, including a maximum flight time of up to 6 hours and the ability to conduct reconnaissance missions at altitudes of up to 4.3 km. Its combined propulsion system utilizes electric motors for vertical takeoff and landing, coupled with an internal combustion engine, enabling speeds of up to 100 km/h in economy mode and a maximum speed of 130 km/h.
Featuring an advanced suite of capabilities, the Kalkan Diha is equipped with a fully automatic flight system, autonomous sensor connection, autonomous takeoff and landing system, and a semi-autonomous flight mode. Additionally, its on-board equipment enables operations up to 100 km away from the operator, enhancing its versatility and range.
