Belarusian ambassador visits Karabakh to explore tourism, industry cooperation
Belarus's Ambassador to Azerbaijan, Dmitry Pinevich, has visited the Karabakh region with members of the Belarusian diplomatic mission to assess opportunities for cooperation in tourism, industry and education.
According to a statement published on the embassy's official Facebook page, the delegation visited the districts of Lachin, Aghdara, Shusha, Zangilan, Kalbajar, Khojaly and Aghdam, as well as the city of Khankendi, Caliber.Az reports.
The embassy said the delegation familiarised itself with the region's natural environment, historical sites and development potential, noting that these areas had previously been inaccessible to foreign visitors.
During the visit, the two sides reaffirmed their interest in expanding educational cooperation between Belarusian universities and Karabakh University, which they described as a future centre of student life in the region.
The delegation also toured industrial facilities and discussed prospects for joint Belarusian-Azerbaijani projects in the territories, according to the statement.
The Belarusian Embassy expressed gratitude to the offices of the Azerbaijani president's special representatives in the visited regions, as well as the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Presidential Administration, for their assistance in organising the visit.
