Belarusian president plans December talks with US, global trip
Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko signals upcoming negotiations with American counterparts and a major international tour.
He announced that talks with American partners will most likely be held in December while receiving a report from Dmitry Krutoy, head of the presidential administration, Caliber.Az reports, citing BelTA.
Lukashenko added that a “very large trip across the southern hemisphere, starting from Myanmar, Oman, Algeria, and so on” is also expected.
The president also said he intends to participate in the Collective Security Treaty Organisation (CSTO) summit in Kyrgyzstan.
Belarus has recently shown signs of warming ties with the United States: in June 2025, his meeting with US Special Envoy Keith Kellogg led to the release of some political prisoners, and Minsk has expressed openness to “constructive cooperation.”
At the same time, Lukashenko is pushing to strengthen the Collective Security Treaty Organisation (CSTO), calling for greater cohesion among its members and signalling an ambition to expand its role in global security.
