Bus accident in Egypt kills two, injures dozens, including Russian tourists
A tragic road accident in Egypt has left two people dead and 39 others injured, including 27 Russian tourists, Al Masry Al Youm reported on November 11.
The incident occurred early Tuesday morning on the Ras Gareb road in Hurghada, when a bus carrying tourists collided with a heavy truck. The bus was en route from Hurghada to Cairo, where the group planned to visit archaeological sites.
Among the injured are 27 Russian citizens, seven Finnish tourists, two Lithuanians, and three Egyptians, including the bus driver and a tour guide. Ambulances rushed all the victims to Ras Ghareb Hospital, where medical teams continue to provide treatment.
The Red Sea security services have informed the Prosecutor’s Office in Ras Ghareb, prompting a special investigation into the accident, which involved both foreign nationals and Egyptians.
Preliminary examinations indicate that the front of the bus sustained severe damage in the collision. Authorities from the Red Sea region, along with health officials, are closely monitoring the situation to ensure that the injured receive proper medical care.
