Cargo transportation between Azerbaijan, Türkiye up over 60%

The volume of cargo transported between Azerbaijan and Türkiye has increased.

The Azerbaijani-Turkish Joint Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation made the statement issued at its Baku-based meeting held on November 4, APA reports.

The development of cooperation in the field of transport was highly assessed at the meeting.

The total volume of transported goods between the two countries for nine months of this year increased by 60.2 per cent, including the volume of transit cargo - by 96.3 per cent.

The trade turnover between Azerbaijan and Türkiye increased by 34 per cent and reached $4.35 billion from January through September 2022, the statement adds.

It underlines good opportunities for further expanding the scale of economic and trade cooperation in the post-COVID-19 pandemic period.
