Caspian oil and gas fields monitored
The expedition team, consisting of specialists from the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources, the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan and the Baku International Sea Trade Port, monitored the Caspian Sea in order to determine the impact on the Caspian Sea and the environment, assessment of the current environmental situation.
Report informs, Nazim Makhmudov, head of the expeditionary group, head of the Department for Integrated Environmental Monitoring of the Caspian Sea, said this.
He noted that the expeditionary group conducted comprehensive studies and monitoring in the Azerbaijani sector of the Caspian Sea at the oil and gas fields "Bahar", "March 8", "Alat-Deniz", "Bulla-Deniz", "Umid", "Shah Deniz", "Absheron". ”, “Chirag”, “Central Azeri”, “Guneshli”, “Oil Rocks”, “Palchyg Pilpilyasi”, “Chilov”, “Sangachal-Deniz-Duvanny-Deniz-Khara-Zira”, OGPD “May 28”, JOKAP : “During the monitoring, 292 samples of water, soil, zooplankton, benthos and air were taken at 80 different locations, the state of air pollution over the sea was studied, hydrometeorological measurements were taken, and biodiversity was studied. Background observations of the Caspian Sea were also carried out both in the north and in the south.”
