Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan discuss boosting cargo transit via Middle Corridor
Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan have held high-level talks to enhance cargo transportation along the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (TITR), aiming to improve regional connectivity and logistics efficiency.
The discussions took place in Beijing during the first day of the 12th Congress of the International Union of Railways (UIC), where Chairman of Kazakhstan Railways Talgat Aldybergenov met with the leadership of Azerbaijan Railways, Caliber.Az reports per local media.
Key topics included the digitalisation and automation of the TITR, which both sides emphasised as vital for accelerating and simplifying cargo movement. The two countries also explored measures to integrate their railway information systems, a move expected to significantly boost the efficiency of cross-border transportation.
