CENTCOM: US military completes another round of strikes against Iran VIDEO
The United States carried out a new round of strikes against Iranian military assets that it says support Tehran's ability to threaten commercial shipping in the Strait of Hormuz, according to the U.S. military.
In a statement, U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) said American forces struck around 90 military targets across Iran on July 8. The targets included air defence systems, coastal surveillance assets, missile and drone storage facilities, naval capabilities and military logistics infrastructure along Iran's coastline.
The operation followed another series of strikes conducted the previous day. CENTCOM said U.S. forces hit about 80 military targets on July 7, including more than 60 small boats operated by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).

The U.S. military said the operations were intended to further reduce Iran's ability to carry out attacks against commercial shipping and civilian mariners transiting the Strait of Hormuz.
According to CENTCOM, the strikes came after Iran allegedly violated a ceasefire by attacking three commercial vessels in the strategic waterway, a key route for global oil and gas shipments.
The military did not provide details on casualties or damage assessments, and Iranian authorities had not immediately commented on the latest strikes.
CENTCOM said U.S. forces remain prepared to conduct further operations if directed by President Donald Trump, adding that American forces remain "vigilant, lethal, and prepared" to respond to threats in the region.
