Channel 14 airs new footage of Hezbollah leader's assassination VIDEO

07 February 2025 15:53

New footage has been released showing the operation that led to the elimination of Hezbollah's leader, Hassan Nasrallah, last September.

The footage, shared by Channel 14, reveals dramatic scenes from the military operation. Nasrallah’s death marked a significant turning point in the ongoing conflict between Israel and the militant group, Caliber.Az reports.

The assassination was the result of years of meticulous intelligence work, spanning over two decades, as part of Israel's broader strategy in preparing for a potential large-scale war.

Dubbed “New Order,” the operation saw over 80 bombs, each weighing approximately one tonne, dropped on Hezbollah’s headquarters. The attack, spearheaded by Squadron 69, utilized the Israeli Air Force’s advanced F-15I bombers.

The newly released video captures the devastation: buildings collapsing, a massive crater forming in the street, and panicked civilians fleeing the scene.

To recap, on September 28, the Israel Defense Forces announced that Nasrallah had been killed in an Israeli airstrike on the southern suburbs of Beirut. The strike occurred on September 27 during a meeting of Hezbollah's leadership.

A day later, the group confirmed the death of its leader and vowed to continue its resistance against Israel.

According to the information from an Israeli official, the decision to target Nasrallah was made after he repeatedly "rejected diplomatic efforts to separate the northern front in Lebanon from the war in Gaza"
