China advances space ambitions with successful launch of ChinaSat-3B
The Chinese Long March 7A rocket successfully launched the ChinaSat-3B communication satellite into orbit on March 20, marking another milestone for China's space programme.
The launch took place at 19:50 p.m. (GMT+8) from the Wenchang Space Launch Site on Hainan Island, in southern China, Caliber.Az reports per Chinese media.
The two-stage rocket carried the geostationary Ku-band communication satellite, operated by China Satcom, into its designated orbit. The satellite will be integrated into an existing constellation of similar communication satellites, enhancing China's capabilities in satellite-based communication services. Designed to provide essential services, ChinaSat-3B will support telephone communications, digital data transmission, and broadcasting signals for television and radio stations.
