China executes four members of drug cartel
China has executed four top members of northern Myanmar-based gangs, previously sentenced to death in November 2025 for intentional homicide, telecom fraud, and drug trafficking.
The executions were conducted by a Shenzhen court in Guangdong Province, southern China, following approval from the Supreme People’s Court, Caliber.Az reports via Chinese media.
Authorities reported that income from fraudulent schemes tied to criminal groups from Myanmar exceeded 29 billion yuan (around $4.2 billion).
The same individuals were also connected to the production and distribution of approximately 11 tons of methamphetamine.
China enforces strict anti-drug laws. Production or sale of more than 50 grams of heroin carries the death penalty, and authorities also impose severe punishments for murder and human trafficking.
Last week, China executed 11 members of the Ming family mafia amid a crackdown on Southeast Asian scam networks that had defrauded thousands of Chinese victims.
