CNN: Iran’s delegation exits Islamabad after 21-hour US talks end in deadlock
Iran’s negotiating team has departed Islamabad following marathon talks with the United States that ultimately failed to produce an agreement, Pakistani and Iranian sources told CNN.
The delegation included 71 members, among them negotiators, technical experts, media personnel, and security staff, as reported by state-linked Tasnim.
Despite 21 hours of intensive discussions with the US, with Pakistan acting as mediator, the two sides were unable to bridge their differences or reach any final deal.
A US official traveling with Vice President JD Vance confirmed that the entire American delegation has also left Pakistan earlier today.
Vance suggested that the core dispute revolved around Iran’s refusal to give up its nuclear program, while Iran’s Tasnim attributed the collapse of the talks to “US overreach and ambitions”.
