Defence Ministry unveils information about first trophies of Azerbaijani Army
The current situation is under the control of Azerbaijani units, Colonel Anar Eyvazov, head of the press service of the Ministry of Defence of Azerbaijan, said at a briefing.
According to him, the Azerbaijani Armed Forces are currently continuing local anti-terrorist activities: "The current situation is under control of our units. Additional information will be regularly provided to the public in the future".
He also reported that six Ural military vehicles with full ammunition for mortars and four mortars of the Armenian armed forces were taken as trophies by units of the Azerbaijani Army, Caliber.Az reports.
Eyvazov noted that the Armenian armed forces, which are running out of ammunition, are trying to attract the peaceful population living in the Karabakh economic region to combat positions by forcibly arming them.
"It is not excluded that the enemy systematically carries out such crimes and accuses Azerbaijan of it in order to form a wrong opinion in the international community," he said.
"The information spread in some Armenian accounts in social networks about the alleged shelling by our armed forces of a position belonging to the Russian peacekeeping contingent temporarily deployed on the territory of Azerbaijan, evacuating residents of Armenian origin and a civilian convoy accompanied by it, is false," ministry's spokesperson added.
"In response to such groundless claims, I declare that we are constantly in operational contact with the peacekeeping contingent, and from our side, the necessary conditions are created for them to fulfill their duties," Colonel Eyvazov said.
