Denmark unveils record-breaking aid program to strengthen Ukraine’s recovery, energy sector
Danish Foreign Minister Lars Løkke Rasmussen announced the launch of a groundbreaking aid initiative aimed at bolstering Ukraine’s resilience and development amid ongoing challenges.
The program, dubbed the Ukraine Transition Program, represents Denmark’s largest and most ambitious financial commitment to Ukraine to date, with an allocation of €375 million, Caliber.Az reports, citing Ukrainian media.
Speaking at a joint press conference in Kyiv alongside Ukrainian Deputy Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha, Rasmussen emphasized the strategic significance of the initiative,
“This is the largest and most ambitious development support program in history,” he stated, highlighting Denmark’s dedication to Ukraine’s sustained recovery and stability.
The three-year program is structured around three pivotal pillars: enhancing Ukraine’s resilience and facilitating early recovery efforts, securing energy independence through the transition to green energy, and strengthening the country’s energy institutions.
Sybiha elaborated on these priorities, noting the program’s focus on addressing urgent humanitarian needs while laying the groundwork for long-term sustainable development.
