DPRK declares right to unpredictable responses amid US military activities
The Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) asserts its right to implement unexpected strategic measures in response to the deployment of US strategic forces in the southern region of the Korean Peninsula.
DPRK Deputy Defence Minister Kim Gang-il announced the warning, Caliber.Az reports via North Korean state-run media.
Kim highlighted that a new US nuclear submarine recently docked in Busan, and a US B-1B strategic bomber is anticipated to arrive on October 1 in conjunction with the Armed Forces Day parade in South Korea. He emphasized that the Korean People's Army is vigilantly observing the increasing presence of US strategic assets on the Korean Peninsula, which he described as a "bad habit."
"In such an environment, unpredictable strategic responses should be the right of a sovereign state; new measures are necessary to raise concerns about the security of the US core area," Kim Gang-il stated. "We can consider and implement plans for such new actions at any time," he warned, insisting that the DPRK armed forces will not remain passive.
The deputy minister asserted that the Korean People's Army believes the US, "gripped by blind faith in violence," must be "addressed from a position of strength." He argued that showcasing military capabilities acts as a "psychotropic substance" for Washington, intended to maintain its diminished military reputation on the Korean Peninsula and to reassure allies who are constantly anxious about the threat of nuclear conflict.
