Multinational military exercise EFES-2024 continues in Doganbey district of Türkiye's Izmir province with the participation of more than 11,000 servicemen from 49 countries.
The purpose of the exercise is to ensure maximum coherence of actions of different branches of the armed forces in the framework of joint operations and to establish an exchange of experience, Azertag reports.
The large-scale exercises, held every two years, involve land forces, as well as the Navy and Air Force. Within the framework of the exercises, various scenarios of joint operations, planning, tactics and coordination of actions in the area of operations are practised.
Both artillery and air strikes, including drone strikes, are carried out against the targets of the conditional enemy. Special Forces land in a given area, carry out operations to destroy unmanned surface and underwater vehicles, clear the terrain, and carry out the landing of marines.
The Turkish Navy's flagship TCG Anadolu is also involved in the exercise, which will continue until May 30.
