Erdoğan to meet Trump shortly to discuss Ukraine, Palestine
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan said he will hold talks with US President Donald Trump on January 5, focusing on the Russia-Ukraine war and the situation in Palestine.
Speaking to reporters after Friday prayers in Istanbul on January 2, Erdoğan said Türkiye remains in close contact with key leaders involved in the conflicts, including Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, Russian President Vladimir Putin and US President Donald Trump. He noted that diplomatic engagements with all three leaders are ongoing, Caliber.Az reports via Turkish media.
Erdoğan also said another international summit is planned in Paris, which will be attended by Turkish foreign minister on his behalf.
According to Erdoğan, his upcoming meeting with Trump, scheduled for January 5, will provide an opportunity to address developments in the war between Russia and Ukraine as well as the situation in Palestine.
