EU flag set to fire in front of Georgian parliament VIDEO
The “Conservative Movement” and the platform “Alt Info”, which advocate relations with Russia and oppose Western influence, blocked the centre of Tbilisi on March 14.
The crowd marched along Rustaveli Avenue to the parliament building, Caliber.Az reports, quoting Georgian media.
Here, the protesters demanded to hold a referendum on the law on foreign agents in Georgia. The crowd also spoke under Georgian flags and chanted "Sakartvelo".
They also demanded to punish those, who were involved in violent actions during the rallies in Tbilisi against the Foreign Influence Transparency Act, first of all, those, who were throwing Molotov cocktails.
Another demand was the release of convicted LGBT opponents who vandalised the Tbilisi Pride office on July 5, 2021 and attacked TV crews.
The protesters tore down the EU flag raised in front of parliament, stomped on it and burned it. The police did not intervene in the incident.
