EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Kaja Kallas, is set to visit Kazakhstan, where she plans to address a range of geopolitical issues, including the threats to the international order based on rules.
In an interview with Kazakhstanskaya Pravda, Kallas outlined the broad scope of topics she intends to cover during her visit, which include trade, transport, digitalization, water resource management, and security, per Caliber.Az.
“Given the current geopolitical context, I also plan to discuss the challenges we face, as well as the threats to the multilateral international order based on rules,” Kallas explained.
Kallas also highlighted the significant progress made by Central Asian countries over the past decade, noting that the development of the region has improved significantly, with Kazakhstan at the forefront of this positive shift.
“Kazakhstan is the key driving force behind this process,” she said. Kallas also expressed strong support for the United Nations General Assembly resolution to establish a Regional Center for Sustainable Development Goals for Central Asia and Afghanistan in Almaty, reinforcing Kazakhstan's pivotal role and positive image in the region.
According to the European Union delegation in Kazakhstan, Kallas is scheduled to visit Almaty on March 28, where she will meet with Kazakhstan's Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Murat Nurtleu, as well as President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.
