EU nations alone decide use of long-range weapons for Ukraine German Defence Minister says
German Defence Minister Boris Pistorius has clarified that the decision regarding the use of long-range weapons supplied to Ukraine by European Union (EU) countries is determined on a bilateral basis between the EU nations and Ukraine.
Pistorius emphasized that under international law, it is up to individual EU member states to decide the permissible use of the advanced weaponry they provide to Ukraine, Caliber.Az reports per Russian media.
"In accordance with international law, the situation is straightforward: partners engage in bilateral discussions with Ukraine regarding the deployment of their weapons. The decision rests with them," Pistorius stated.
However, the German minister refrained from commenting on the positions of the British and US governments regarding the use of long-range weapons, noting that he is not in a position to assess their viewpoints.
