EU summons Russian diplomat over Kyiv evacuation warning
EU summoned the Russian Chargé d’Affaires over reported warnings for foreign citizens and diplomats to leave Kyiv, calling the move an “unacceptable escalation” and urging Russia to halt strikes on civilians.
Anitta Hipper, lead spokesperson for foreign affairs and security policy at the European Union External Action Service, said the bloc had also pressed for renewed diplomatic engagement, Caliber.Az reports.

“Russia’s threat to foreign citizens and diplomats to leave Kyiv is an unacceptable escalation,” Hipper said.
“The European External Action Service has summoned the Chargé d’Affaires, calling to stop hitting civilians and for Russia to engage in genuine peace talks starting with a full and unconditional ceasefire.”
She added that the EU mission in Ukraine remains in the capital.
“The EU Delegation to Ukraine stays in Kyiv,” she said.
