Euronews: Smart urban recovery transforms Azerbaijan’s Karabakh, East Zangazur Video
Euronews has released a video report in partnership with the World Urban Forum spotlighting large-scale reconstruction efforts in Azerbaijan’s Karabakh and East Zangazur regions.
The report noted that the territories are undergoing extensive post-conflict redevelopment focused on smart villages, sustainable housing and heritage-led urban recovery.
“Karabakh and East Zangazur are rebuilding through smart villages, sustainable housing and heritage-led urban recovery,” the report states.
The video highlights that around 60,000 residents have returned to settlements across the region. Authorities are supporting the resettlement process with the construction of new homes, schools, healthcare facilities and employment opportunities.
"Developments such as Aghali village integrate renewable energy, digital solutions and sustainable planning. In Shusha, restoration efforts draw on detailed historical records to rebuild architecture in harmony with traditional styles. Planners say the goal is to create resilient ecosystems that blend modern design with cultural continuity, as communities re-establish daily life across the region," teh report states.
