Expert warns of trap mines on Azerbaijani highway

The manager of the operational division of the Safe Point company, dealing with the demining project, Ruslan Muradov, has said that demining operations are underway on the Aghdam-Khindarkh-Aghjabadi highway in Azerbaijan.

“The highway should be cleared and put into operation upon Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev’s order,” he noted, according to Azertag.

“The length of the highway is 7.5 km. We started from the most dangerous sector, covering 25 hectares, Afyatli village. So far, TM62, P3 and P2 anti-tank mines, as well as PMD anti-personnel mines have been found. We haven't found trap mines yet. However, proceeding from the available information, they may be revealed in this territory,” he said.
