Families who returned to Azerbaijan's Fuzuli city receive apartments' keys UPDATED

The keys to flats were handed over to 25 families who returned to Fuzuli city on September 15. 

The keys were handed over by Eldar Seidov, an employee of the president's Special Representative Office in the liberated territories of the Garabagh Economic Region, and Natig Huseynov, Director of the Repatriation Department of the State Committee for Refugees and IDPs, Report informs. 

Thus, 144 families, making up 514 people, were provided with permanent residence in Fuzuli city.

In line with the instructions of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, the return of former internally displaced persons to Fuzuli continues.

In this vein, on September 15 another column of IDPs was sent from the Gobu Park 3 residential complex in Garadagh district of Baku, Caliber.Az reports.

At this stage, 25 more families, totalling 73 people, were resettled to Fuzuli.

Thus, 144 families or 514 persons have been permanently resettled in Fuzuli city. The families resettled in Fuzuli will reside in newly built houses.

Azerbaijan started the return of former internally displaced persons to the liberated lands in July 2022. 

The government of Azerbaijan plans to resettle 2,000 families or 10,000 people in the Garabagh and East Zangazur economic regions by the end of 2023.

According to a decree signed in November 2022 by President Aliyev approving the "First State program on the Great Return to Azerbaijan's liberated territories”, a total of 280,000 hectares (692,000 acres) of lands in the Garabagh and East Zangazur regions will be readied for resettlement by 2026.

By 2026, a total of 34,500 families will be relocated to the Garabagh and East Zangazur regions. To accommodate them, 34,500 apartments and private houses will be built by 2026.
