Fifth round of Israel-Lebanon talks set for US
A fifth round of peace talks between Israel and Lebanon is scheduled to take place in the United States on Wednesday, June 3, a US State Department official said, as negotiations aimed at reaching a comprehensive settlement continue.
Tommy Pigott, Deputy Spokesperson for the US State Department, said the upcoming round follows progress achieved during earlier discussions. The fourth round of talks, held in the United States on May 2, resulted in advances toward a broader agreement between the parties.

He indicated that negotiations are moving forward on both political and security dimensions, with the United States continuing to play a mediating role in the process.
"Progress continues on the political and security tracks as we break from the failures of the past 20 years and advance toward a comprehensive agreement aimed at restoring Lebanon’s sovereignty and ensuring Israel's security. The United States remains fully committed to facilitating these historic negotiations. Another round is scheduled for tomorrow," he wrote.
