Fire in Russia’s Krasnodar region extinguished after UAV attack
A fire that burned for more than a day in the village of Volna in Russia’s Krasnodar territory has been fully extinguished following an attack involving Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), authorities said.
According to the region’s operational headquarters, citing the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations in the Krasnodar region, the open burning of a second hotspot was extinguished on February 16 at 00:35 local time, with the fire completely controlled by 6:00 local time, Caliber.Az reports.
Veniamin Kondratyev, governor of the Krasnodar region, said the blaze began on February 15 when UAV debris struck a tank containing petroleum products in Volna. Damage was also reported in Sochi and the village of Yurovka, Anapa. In Volna, two people were injured, and a petroleum tank, a warehouse, and terminals were damaged.
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that the Tamanneftegaz marine oil terminal near Volna was affected by the incident.
