First soldier returns to Shushakend in Karabakh’s Khojaly district PHOTO

The village of Shushakend in Azerbaijan’s Khojaly district has welcomed home its first soldier following the completion of military service.

Famil Huseynov returned to his native village after finishing his compulsory service, Azertag reports. He had been conscripted from the Aghjabadi district.

Residents and relatives gathered to greet Huseynov on his return, marking a notable moment for the village as resettlement continues in the area.

The occasion also reflected a family history spanning decades. Thirty-eight years ago, Huseynov’s father, Kamal Huseynov, completed his own military service and returned to Shushakend. His son’s homecoming mirrors that earlier return.
