First stage of Horadiz-Aghband railway line construction completed by 90 %
Construction work on the first stage of the Horadiz-Aghband railway line project has been completed by 90 per cent.
The statement came from the Working Group on Transport, Communications and High Technologies of the Interdepartmental Center operating under the Coordination Headquarters established in connection with the centralised resolution of issues on Azerbaijani territories liberated from occupation, Report informs.
According to the information, work on the second stage of the project - the construction of 55 km, covering the stations of Soltanli, Gumlag, Hakari and Minjivan, continues in an accelerated manner.
Currently, working trains departing from the Horadiz station freely reach the stations of Marjanli, Mahmudlu, Soltanli and Gumlag, ensuring the delivery of materials necessary for construction.
The axial length of the Horadiz-Aghband railway line is 110.4 km. Nine stations are planned to be built as part of the project. Construction work on the railway line is being carried out in parallel with the mine clearance process, 82 km of territory has been cleared to date.
Construction works are carried out in three stages.
The first stage covers an area of 30 km and covers the stations of Horadiz, Marjanli, Mahmudlu and Soltanli. At this stage, 89 per cent of the total volume has been completed.
The second stage of work is carried out on a section from 30 km to 85 km and includes Soltanli, Gumlag, Hakari and Minjivan stations. A total of 17 per cent of the work at this stage has been completed.
The third stage covers a section of 85-110.4 km between the stations of Minjivan, Bartaz and Aghband. Preparations are underway to clear the territory of mines.
The implementation of the project, the foundation of which was laid by President Ilham Aliyev on February 14 last year, is scheduled to be completed in 2023.
