First test flight conducted at Lachin airport VIDEO
Footage of the first test flight from the runway of the new airport in Azerbaijan's Lachin district has been released.
The video shows a Gulfstream aircraft, adorned in the signature AZAL livery with the word "Azerbaijan" emblazoned on its fuselage, accelerating down the runway, Caliber.Az reports.
The Lachin Airport is set to feature concrete runways, taxiways, a control tower, and the main terminal building.
This international airport will be the third such facility constructed in Karabakh. The foundation stone was laid in 2021 by President Ilham Aliyev, and construction is expected to be completed by 2025.
The airport's runway will measure 3,000 metres in length and 60 metres in width, with the capacity to handle up to 200 passengers per hour.
