Former US Attorney General Bondi to skip Epstein hearing
Pam Bondi, the former US Attorney General, will not appear at the Congressional hearing on April 14 in the Jeffrey Epstein case.
The Oversight Committee originally summoned Bondi in early March while she was still serving as head of the Justice Department, but she no longer holds the position, Caliber.Az reports, citing the CBS.
As a private citizen, she is no longer formally required to comply with the Congressional subpoena.
The department said it will continue to cooperate with the committee regarding the case.
She has previously testified at hearings related to the Epstein investigation.
Critics have accused the Justice Department of delaying the release of documents and redacting certain sections.
In early April, President Donald Trump dismissed Bondi from her post.
Jeffrey Epstein was a financier and convicted sex offender accused of running a sex trafficking operation involving dozens of underage girls.
