France prepares new military aid to Ukraine
French Foreign Minister Catherine Colonna has said France is preparing new deliveries of military assistance to Ukraine to help it defend itself in Russia’s ongoing war.
“No one should doubt France's determination to support Ukraine for as long as necessary,” Caliber.Az quotes her as saying in an interview with RFI.
"France has repeatedly affirmed that it will support Ukraine for as long as necessary to ensure that it can legitimately defend its independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity within its internationally recognised borders. No one should doubt our determination to fulfil this commitment," Colonna said.
According to the minister, the assistance provided by France is aimed at meeting the needs that have been articulated by Kyiv. First and foremost, it is about helping Ukraine defend itself against a Russian attack, focusing on air defence and artillery.
"This support will continue and intensify. New deliveries of military assistance are being prepared, taking into account the urgent needs expressed by Ukraine," the minister said.
Colonna explained that the support includes strengthening Ukraine's capabilities over the long term and providing sufficient capacity to prevent any further Russian attack attempts in the future.
