Fars: Iran imposes internet restrictions
Iran has temporarily restricted internet access across the country, citing "special circumstances," the Ministry of Communications announced.
"Temporary restrictions have been imposed on the country's internet," the ministry said in a statement carried by FARS, adding that the curbs are not permanent and will be lifted once the situation returns to normal, Caliber.Az reports.
No further details were provided regarding the nature of the restrictions.
In the early hours of June 13, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) carried out multiple waves of precision airstrikes across Iranian territory. The strikes primarily targeted military facilities and elements linked to Iran’s nuclear program.
Preliminary reports indicate that key strategic sites in Tehran were among the targets, resulting in the deaths of several high-ranking Iranian military officials.
The operation claimed the lives of prominent military and scientific figures. Among those killed was Major General Mohammad Bagheri, Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces. General Hossein Salami, commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), was also confirmed dead, a loss officially acknowledged by the IRGC.
