France's Azerbaijanis stage protest over vandalised monument of Natavan
Azerbaijanis living in France hold a protest in the city of Evian-les-Bains.
According to Report's local office, the Azerbaijani community in Evian-les-Bains, France, gathered in front of the monument to the great 19th-century Azerbaijani poetess Khurshudban Natavan. The action, organised by the Coordinating Council of Azerbaijanis of Europe and the Congress of Azerbaijanis of Europe, was aimed at protesting against acts of vandalism. In this way, Azerbaijanis living in France inform the French public and media about the importance of the Natavan statue, its symbolic meaning and spiritual value for the Azerbaijani community.
The action is approved by the local authorities. Azerbaijanis living in different cities of France and Europe - Paris, Strasbourg, Berlin, Geneva, etc. - take part in it.
