Aliyev-Pashinyan meeting in Abu Dhabi: Key outcomes of peace talks
The meeting between Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, held in Abu Dhabi, took place in a very constructive atmosphere.
According to Caliber.Az, the discussions covered the full range of key areas on the peace agenda that currently shape the future of Azerbaijan-Armenia relations. The focus was on issues such as border delimitation, which has been a source of tension for decades; the opening and development of the Zangezur Corridor; as well as preparations for the initialling of a peace treaty. The discussions on these matters were deep and substantive, indicating that the parties have entered a new phase of the negotiation process.
The dialogue was not limited to a formal exchange of positions. There was a genuine exchange of views and proposals, which allowed for a clearer definition of overlapping interests and remaining disagreements. As a result, a mutual agreement was reached to continue contacts both at the technical level — through specialised working groups — and at higher political levels.
