Georgia bans heavy vehicle movement on Armenia border highway due to snowfall
Georgia has banned the movement of heavy vehicles on the highway leading to the border with Armenia, according to the Georgian Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure.
Due to snowfall, the movement of vehicles with trailers and semi-trailers is prohibited on the section of the international highway from Ninotsminda to the border with Armenia (from 90th to 112th km), as well as on the section from 1st to 36th km of Akhalkalaki-Kartsari highway, Caliber.Az reports citing Armenian media.
The road is open for passenger cars.
In addition, the movement of vehicles with trailers and semi-trailers in the direction of the Georgian-Russian border (Upper Lars TPP) is temporarily restricted due to snow and low temperatures.
Recall that the movement of trucks on the Gudauri-Kobi section of the Mtskheta-Stepantsminda-Lars highway of international importance has also been banned since the evening of November 25 due to harsh weather.
