Kremlin says Putin-Zelenskyy meeting unlikely this summer
A meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is unlikely to take place before the end of August, Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov told reporters.
According to Peskov, a high-level meeting between Russia and Ukraine should serve to finalise the resolution process and confirm all agreements reached between the parties. However, he expressed doubt that such a complex process could be completed within the next 30 days, Caliber.Az reports via TASS.
He further explained that Russia’s position is well known and is outlined in a draft memorandum that was handed over to the Ukrainian side.
Peskov also noted that the draft memorandum on the resolution currently held by both sides are diametrically opposed, meaning a significant amount of work still lies ahead for both Russia and Ukraine before any agreement can be reached.
