Türkiye debuts high-tech BOYGA-B drone, TUNGA smart munition at IDEF 2025 PHOTO/VIDEO
At the recently concluded IDEF 2025 defence exhibition, Turkish defence manufacturer STM introduced two cutting-edge systems that promise to enhance battlefield capabilities: the BOYGA-B unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) and the TUNGA intelligent ammunition system.

The BOYGA-B UAV is engineered as a high-precision carrier platform tailored for tactical field reconnaissance, surveillance, target engagement, and precision ammunition deployment. Distinguished by its ability to operate effectively in GNSS-denied or jamming-prone environments, the system boasts an 8-kilogram payload capacity capable of delivering a versatile range of munitions directly to frontline combat zones with remarkable accuracy.
Key specifications of the BOYGA-B include:
Flight endurance of up to 35 minutes;
Operational range extending to 10 kilometres;
Single-operator usability for streamlined field deployment;
Advanced target detection and tracking functionalities;
Real-time electro-optical and infrared (EO/IR) imagery transmission;
Autonomous ammunition release coupled with mission abort capabilities;
Robust independent navigation enabled by a Controlled Reception Pattern Antenna (CRPA) and KERKES integration for GNSS resilience.
In terms of armament, the BOYGA-B is compatible with:
Two 81mm UAV munitions;
One TUNGA mini munition;
One Kargu FPV drone munition.
The TUNGA smart munition system, unveiled by STM, represents a sophisticated guided munition engineered for precision engagement in human combat scenarios. Equipped with advanced optical and thermal imaging capabilities alongside cutting-edge image processing algorithms, TUNGA ensures highly accurate target acquisition and neutralization. The system incorporates a safety-oriented self-destruct mechanism, enhancing operational security and mitigating unintended damage.
Designed for versatile deployment, TUNGA can be launched not only from the BOYGA-B UAV but also from a variety of aerial platforms, broadening its tactical applications.

Image and GNSS-based navigation for reliable guidance;
An integrated self-destruct function to ensure safe disposal if necessary;
