Instagram’s main rival blocked in Russia? PHOTO
Instagram’s main competitor has stopped working in Russia. Russian users of the VSCO app have lost access to subscription features costing ₽5,000 ($64).
According to SHOT, the mobile app VSCO—which is used by over 200 million people worldwide, including more than 1 million in Russia—has stopped functioning for users in the country. Profiles with active subscriptions, the photo editing interface, the feed, and the Space section are all inaccessible.
Users report they can no longer use subscriptions, many of which were paid for a year in advance (costing up to ₽5,000). Meanwhile, the option to purchase a subscription is still available, but the features it’s supposed to unlock do not appear.
Customer support has not provided any comment on the issue.
VSCO is a photo editing app that has gradually evolved to resemble Instagram.
