Russia’s MFA launches section with “Russophobic hate speech” examples
The Russian Foreign Ministry has introduced a new section titled “Examples of the Use of ‘Hate Speech’ Against Russia and Russophobic Statements by Politicians and Public Figures of Foreign States.”
In an official statement, the ministry accused Western political figures and Ukrainian government representatives of repeatedly engaging in what it describes as “Russophobic rhetoric.” The statement noted that this occurs despite a United Nations General Assembly resolution promoting interreligious and intercultural dialogue and tolerance to combat hate speech, Caliber.Az reports per the Russian Foreign Ministry.
The ministry highlighted that while Russia and many countries from the global majority supported the resolution, several Western nations either voted against it or abstained. The statement suggested this voting behavior reveals a contradiction between those countries’ declared commitment to human rights and their actual stance on combating discrimination.
