Georgian official mocks statement that Saakashvili's arrest beneficial for Russia

Head of ruling party Georgian Dream - Democratic Georgia Irakli Kobakhidze mocked the opposition's claim that ex-President of Georgia Mikheil Saakashvili is a prisoner of Vladimir Putin and his arrest is beneficial to Moscow.

"What interest should Russia have in Saakashvili's imprisonment, will Saakashvili come out and overthrow Putin or what will he do! It's funny," Kobakhidze said, Imedi reports.

According to him, the only interest of the Georgian government is the rule of law, and when a person commits the most serious crimes, the punishment must be carried out.
