Georgian PM joins Muslims at iftar table in Tbilisi PHOTO
Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili has met with Muslims at an iftar table on the occasion of Ramadan.
During the iftar (a meal taken by Muslims at sundown to break the daily fast during Ramadan) on April 19, the prime minister congratulated Muslims and spoke about the friendship and brotherhood of Muslims and Christians, Caliber.Az reports quoting Georgian media.
“Dear friends, I cordially welcome and congratulate you on the holy month of Ramadan and thank you for coming to our Iftar table. We are all proud of our centuries-old brotherhood and friendship, and we will certainly pass this wealth on to our children and future generations,” Garibashvili said.
"Respect for each other's traditions and beliefs is our way of life, and today's meeting certainly proves this, as evidenced by the concern of the Georgian state and government to protect the Muslim community, your rights, traditions and culture," the head of the government said.
