"Great Return": Azerbaijan relocates 92 families to Aghdam

21 April 2026 08:40

Azerbaijan has continued its resettlement programme to liberated territories, with a new group of families relocating to the city of Aghdam as part of the government’s “Great Return” initiative.

The latest phase of relocation includes 92 families, totaling 332 people, who had been temporarily housed in hostels, sanatoriums, and administrative buildings across the country, Caliber.Az reports per local media.

The programme is being implemented in line with instructions from President Ilham Aliyev, focusing on the gradual return of formerly internally displaced persons to their native lands.

Residents who have returned to Aghdam expressed gratitude to President Aliyev and First Vice-President Mehriban Aliyeva for comprehensive state support during the resettlement process.

They also paid tribute to the Azerbaijani armed forces for their role in liberating the territories from ocupation and honoured those who lost their lives during the war.
