Great Return: Azerbaijan hands over apartment keys to resettled families in Khankendi PHOTO/UPDATED
Families who have arrived in the city of Khankendi have been officially handed the keys to their new apartments.
The key-handover ceremony was attended by representatives of the Special Representative’s Office of the President of Azerbaijan in Khankendi and the Aghdara and Khojaly districts, as well as officials from the State Committee for Refugees and Internally Displaced Persons, Caliber.Az reports via local media.
At this stage, 18 families comprising 68 people have been resettled in the city.

Under the instructions of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, the country’s “Great Return” programme continues to facilitate the resettlement of families to liberated territories.
According to the State Committee for Refugees and Internally Displaced Persons, 18 families comprising 68 people departed on June 19 for the city of Khankendi as part of the ongoing relocation process, Caliber.Az reports.
The families had previously been living in temporary accommodation, including hostels, sanatoriums, and administrative buildings across various regions of Azerbaijan.
Returning residents expressed gratitude to President Ilham Aliyev and First Vice-President Mehriban Aliyeva for sustained support and care during their displacement and return process.
