Holland issues postage stamp – Azerbaijani flag in Khankendi PHOTO
A postage stamp reflecting the raising of the Azerbaijani national flag in the ancient Azerbaijani city of Khankendi has been printed in Amsterdam, the capital of the Kingdom of the Netherlands.
The stamp issued on the initiative of Saltanat Ravanqizi, diaspora activist living in Amsterdam, within the “Pearls of Azerbaijan” project reflects such words as “Karabakh is Azerbaijan!” and "Khankendi", the Azerbaijani State Committee for Work with the Diaspora told Caliber.Az.
The stamps have been printed by PostNL national operator, the official postal service of the Netherlands.
This initiative was carried out to attract the attention of the local public to the raising of the Azerbaijani national flag in Khankendi city by Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev on October 15.
So far, such stamps as Heydar Aliyev - 100, Kharibulbul, Shusha, Nizami Ganjavi - 880, Uzeyir Hajibayov, Fikrat Amirov, Jovdat Hajiyev, Amina Dilbazi, Rashid Behbudov, Ismayil Shikhli, Sakit Mammadov, Albert Agarunov, Journalists Maharram Ibrahimov and Siraj Abishov, who died in Kalbajar have been issued within the “Pearls of Azerbaijan” project.
