Human remains discovered in Azerbaijan’s liberated Aghdam
08 December 2025 12:08
Fragments of a human skeleton have been uncovered in Azerbaijan's Aghdam city.
The discovery occurred during recent excavations in territory liberated following the 2020 Karabakh war. An official investigation has been launched, Caliber.Az reports via local media.
Since the 2020 war, numerous human remains have been found across Azerbaijan's Karabakh region. Over 600 bodies, many dating back to the First Karabakh War, have been exhumed from mass graves and individual burial sites in districts including Aghdam, Khojaly, Shusha, and Khojavand. Some of these findings have shown signs of torture and other potential war crimes.
