Humanoid robots stage spectacular martial arts show in Beijing VIDEO

24 February 2026 18:42

Humanoid robots developed by Chinese robotics firm Unitree Robotics delivered a striking martial arts performance at Beijing’s iconic Temple of Heaven, following their widely praised appearance at the 2026 Spring Festival Gala, CGTN reports.

In a video, 50 G1 humanoid robots staged a synchronized martial arts routine that fused traditional Chinese culture with cutting-edge technology. Dressed in festive red T-shirts, the robots moved in precise formation, executing agile leaps, coordinated shifts and acrobatic flips that highlighted both technical accuracy and the spirit of Chinese martial arts. The display concluded with a traditional fist-clasping salute. A caption reading “live-action, not AI-generated” underscored the authenticity of the performance.

The Temple of Heaven showcase built on the robots’ earlier success at China’s nationally televised Spring Festival Gala on February 16, where the machines demonstrated what the company described as several world-first technical breakthroughs. Among them were the world’s first continuous freestyle table-vaulting parkour, the first launched aerial flip with a maximum height exceeding three metres, continuous single-leg flips, a two-step wall-assisted backflip and the first Airflare grand spin of 7.5 rotations.

From the gala stage to a historic outdoor landmark, the robots have demonstrated notable improvements in stability, coordination and speed, reinforcing Unitree’s ambitions in advanced humanoid mobility.

Looking ahead, Wang Xingxing, chief executive officer of Unitree Robotics, said the company is preparing multiple new products for release in 2026. These will range from practical service robots designed for real-world applications to more experimental platforms aimed at pushing technological boundaries.

“Enabling robots to truly drive human productivity forward is our common goal,” Wang said. “This is also the focus of our efforts this year.”
