Identification of another victim in Khojaly mass grave reveals grim realities
The ongoing investigation into the mass grave discovered in Khojaly has taken another sombre turn as authorities have confirmed the identification of yet another victim.
The remains of 18 individuals, including four minors, bearing signs of torture, physical violence, and cruel treatment have been unearthed, Caliber.Az reports, citing the press service of Azerbaijan’s General Prosecutor's Office.
With this latest identification, the total count of identified victims now stands at 10. Among them are residents of both Khojaly and Khankendi, underscoring the breadth of the tragedy that befell the region.
The identified victims from Khojaly include Agaali Naib oglu Aliyev, Surayya Behbud gizi Aliyeva, Akif Seydulla oglu Mahmudov, Khazar Siyavush oglu Salimov, Tamilla Agamirza gizi Salimova, and Shiraslan Mamish oglu Najafov.
From Khankendi, the identified individuals are Ali Musul oglu Javadov, Ismail Bahman oglu Ismailov, Vasila Vali gizi Maharramova, and Vagif Jamil oglu Maharramov.
All of these individuals were reported missing in the Khojaly region on February 26, 1992, marking a tragic chapter in the history of the area.
