International conference participants visit Lachin, Khankendi following forum PHOTO
Participants in the international conference "Cultural and Ethnic Diversity: Lessons from History, Contemporary Challenges" visited several locations in Azerbaijan's Karabakh region following the event held in the city of Shusha on July 6.
The conference brought together civil society representatives from 10 countries, including Azerbaijan, the United States, France, Lithuania, Poland, Czechia, Germany, Israel, Türkiye and Georgia, Caliber.Az reports per local media.
As part of the programme, delegates visited the Khojaly Genocide Memorial Complex on July 5 before travelling to the city of Lachin, where they were shown areas affected during the years of Armenian control, as well as ongoing restoration and reconstruction projects.
On July 6, participants also visited Victory Park in Khankendi.
The conference featured a panel discussion titled "Modern Forms of Colonialism: Actions Bringing Tragedy, Slavery and Suffering to Peoples," during which representatives of various communities discussed their history, national identity, contemporary challenges and expectations for the future.
